The challenge lies in selecting the right books, as they all offer valuable advice. However, not every parent has the time, patience, or preparation to read through multiple books and develop their own comprehensive approach to education and child-rearing. How can we raise children to be obedient, kind, responsible, honest, and confident? These are the questions parents often ask when consulting a family psychologist.
These questions are indeed important, but the challenge lies in finding the answers that work best for each individual family. Before answering these questions, I ask parents to consider a few other things: Who are you trying to raise? When does parenting begin and end? What is more important - honesty or kindness? My wife and I realized that the issue parents face is not a lack of knowledge about how to raise their children but a lack of understanding of why and for what purpose they are doing it.
We believe our main task as psychologists and parents is to provide a holistic view of child-rearing and relationships with children. This led us to create a "Different approach to parenting." Our book discusses this new perspective, emphasizing the importance of attitude towards the child and the role of the parent in shaping their child's character. When you understand what you are raising, there are no more questions. The experience of practicing family psychology shows that many people have a poor understanding of family life and what it means to be a parent.
Many do not understand the role and place of men in the family, let alone how to raise children effectively. Our book serves as a practical guide for parents to develop a positive attitude towards family life and child-rearing. Only after forming the necessary attitude can we talk about any practical actions. This book is about the parents' attitude towards themselves, their lives, their family, and, of course, their children.
