One evening after work, Courtney and Samantha meet to discuss Samantha's shifting thoughts on sexuality. They have picked a secluded place to avoid someone they know seeing them together or overhearing their conversation. Both women are married, and Sam has a daughter, yet over time she has had confusing feelings about her relationships with women. At first, she wonders if she thinks of other women in a romantic manner does that mean she is lesbian? Courtney assures such thoughts are not homosexual in themselves but tells her such thoughts can be dangerous.
Next, Sam confesses that she has had brief encounters with another woman, more for the thrill than any romantic need. Again, Courtney assures her one such encounter does not a lesbian make. Feeling relieved by what her friend has told her she declares that she is actually fixated one specific aspect of sex and really doesn't care about the gender of her partner. When asked why not just perform such act with her marriage she is not able provide a suitable answer.
An understanding Courtney then begins to discuss her own confusions and the manner in which she dealt with them. The story she relates to Sam only inflames the poor Samantha further and begins to look at Courtney from a different perspective.
