À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Dorothea Gutzeit

When my grandchildren were in their primary school years I would visit with them during their summer holidays. While walking hand-in-hand with my granddaughter, she would often ask questions about my childhood home. How big was the garden?... What did the house look like? ... and so on. I started writing notes on my past in January 1986 when my granddaughter, a teen by then, became interested in my personal history and her ancestors.
Later her brother became curious and questioned my husband about the war years. Time dwindled away and it wasn't until after my husband was gone, when time became too long and lonely for me, that my daughter suggested that I use my talents to record these precious memories so that they could be passed on to my descendants.
