The idea started while they were renovating an old mining town brothel. Rae Ellen Lee and her husband, Tom, dreamed up a novel to co-author and set the story on St. John in the U. S. Virgin Islands. After a book research trip to the island, they sell their house and buy a boat.
But things don't go as planned. The book is about taking risks and making changes, told from the viewpoint of a reluctant first mate with a candid and humorous perspective.
