I had always wanted to serve in government, and specifically to try cases in courtrooms as a prosecutor. But like many of the prosecutors and FBI agents who joined the government in the 1990s, I did not consider cybercrime to be my area of expertise. #4 I wanted to be a prosecutor because I felt that defending the rule of law was the cornerstone of American history.
I grew up in New York City during an era when crime appeared rampant and maybe intractable, and I wanted to help fix that.
