When Alina wakes up after spending her first night with Xai, the creature her tribe worships as a god, she discovers that the eggs he'd placed inside her with are ready to be released into the sea. However, what starts off as an exciting new experience for her quickly turns alarming when she starts experiencing unexplained pain. While Xai manages to get the situation back under control, she can tell that he's still concerned for her safety.
After coming down from the intense pleasure he gives her, she's eager to do it all over again, but to her dismay, Xai is less than enthusiastic, insisting that they wait until he can figure out why she was hurting in the first place. To help distract her from her wishes, he shows her that there are still other ways for them to enjoy each other in the meantime, opening her eyes to things that she didn't even know were possible.
