Biographie de Susan Greeff
Hi, my name is Susan Greeff and I'm from Langebaan, a small town on the West Coast of South Africa. I am a former Life Coach and Counsellor whose search for a creative outlet led me on a journey to re-discover photography as an art form. As a young child I've always loved images and photographs and was inspired by my mother's photo albums and started using her camera from time to time, until I bought my own camera when I was 18 years old.
It was only in my late 40's when I rediscovered photography, that I seriously started to learn about photography. I've learned from a number of photographic masters, workshops and photographic experiences. For me the creative process is as much part of our inner journey as it is of the outer journey. I'm a passionate traveller and find inspiration from the places I visit, the people I meet and the landscapes I find myself in.
I'm a feeling kind of photographer and becoming mindful and acting on intuitive nudges, I connect with my subject on a deeper level. My camera becomes an extension of myself as I immerse myself in the moment of capturing the essence and emotion of who or what is in front of me. Black & White images have always been my favourite practise of expressing my photographic art; the artistic, timelessness and visual story lends itself for an emotional connection and interpretation by die viewer.
Whereas my colour images are a realistic re-presentation of the here and now. In "The Search for Creative Expression: Photography as a Healing Art", the reader is welcomed into my inner and outer life journey during my travels from 2006 to 2020.
