Biographie de Gerard-L'E Turner
Gerard L'E Turner, Dlitt, is Visiting Professor of the History of Scientific instruments at Imperial College, London. Originally a physicist, he joined the staff of the Museum of the History of Science, Oxford University, in 1964, and became Senior Assistant Curator. He has been President of the Royal Microscopical Society, and of the British Society for the History of Science, and editor of the international journal, Annals of Science. He is a member of the Académie internationale d'Histoire des Sciences, and currently President of the Scientific Instrument Society. His two most recent books are The Practice of Science in the Nineteenth Century, and Scientific Instruments 1500-1900 : An Introduction.
