Résumé
Peter Russell's Genetics has become the market leader by emphasizing the unique problem-solving approach pioneered by the author. As with previous editions, the fifth edition is also noted for its engaging writing style, emphasis on research and experiments, numerous end-of-chapter problems, and beautiful four-color design. Step-wise analytical problem-solving and problem sets cover a wide range of topics and represent several levels of difficulty, so both beginning and more advanced students can practice solving genetics problems. Human examples are used throughout the text to facilitate comprehension of genetic diseases at the molecular level. An engaging writing style presents complex information in an accessible manner. A timely new chapter, "Genetics of Cancer", discusses the different roles that genes play in development of the disease. Coverage of molecular genetics focuses on the most significant recent advances that have resulted from molecular experimentation.
