Philippe Jacquin, professeur d'Anthropologie à Lyon II spécialiste des Indiens et de l'Ouest américain, a publié une vingtaine d'ouvrages sur l'Amérique du Nord dont : Les indiens d'Amérique. Daniel Royot est professeur de civilisation américaine à la Sorbonne. Auteur ou co-auteur d'une vingtaine d'ouvrages, il a enseigné dans plusieurs universités américaines et a publié des articles dans de nombreuses revues, tant en France qu'aux Etats-Unis. Parmi ses publications récentes figure notamment L'Humour et la culture américaine. Paris, PUF. En 1998, il est nommé resident scholar à l'International Jefferson Study Center de Monticello en Virginie.
