Biographie de Glenn Beatty

Glenn Beatty is a writer, actor, director & producer. In the summer of 2011, Glenn traveled to Taipei to produce a short film about the Dharma Master Shin Tao, the Buddhist monk who created the Museum of World Religions in that city. The previous year, he traveled to India and Tanzania to direct the * "The Power to Change Lives", a film about bringing electricity to rural areas for the first time.( * Two Telly Awards).
Glenn recently made his stand-up comedy debut at the Gotham Comedy Club and is currently studying the Meisner technique with Alan Gordon in NYC. Hereturned to acting several years ago which resulted in his TV debut on an episode of A&E's The Fugitive Chronicles in May 2010 co-starring as a Colorado Sheriff who leads a manhunt. Long a lover of the theater, he was an original member of the San Diego Repertory Theater Company.
In the summer of 2012, he played Northumberland in Nenry 4, Part 1 at the STNJ and has an on-going relationship with the Abingdon Theater in NYC and followed that with stints at the Jenny Wiley Theater in Kentucky and the Mt. Gretna Theater in Pennsylvania. He has written screenplays, corporate scripts, short stories, poetry and plays. He periodically performs some of his poetry at various venues in NYC.
One of his one-acts, An exercise In Confusion was a finalist in the Eugene O'Neill Playwrighting Competition and his western melodrama, Stick'em Up! (Or The Wrong Cowboy) was produced at the Marquee Theater, Santa Rosa, California. Glenn also produced and directed both plays here in NYC. Glenn has studied Philosophy for the last twenty years, focusing on Plato and the eastern philosophy of Adwaita.
He has an MFA from SMU (Alma Mater of Kathy Bates) and BA from UC Santa Barbara (Alma Mater of Michael Douglas). He is married to Maria Petsilas-Beatty, a teacher, etymologist and writer of Children's stories.
