Résumé

Gifted with synesthesia - the ability to see sounds as colors and affording her perfect pitch - Allissa was a brilliant violinist attending the prestigious Basile Academy for Musical Arts. She had her whole life planned. Become a Master violinist. Marry her best friend Michael. Tour the world filling it with sound and color. It was a simple and beautiful plan. And then Michael was murdered. Allissa's world became colorless.
Attending his funeral gave no peace, only questions. There are no clues. No motives. Just his body, cut to ribbons, and strange drawings in his bedroom of eyes and a face no one recognized. Among his belongings were notes about the founder of Basile Academy, Nathaniel Basile, and the curiosities around the founder's synesthesia. Plagued with grief and questions, Allissa's world shifts. She sees smells, hears colors, and living music notes dance before her eyes.
A world only she can see but that eerily resembles what Nathaniel Basile experienced. But among the beauty and wonder are broken notes, patches of emptiness, and Discord. Allissa can't explain any of it and her problems begin to mount when her new abilities turn into something physical. She can shape the world through her music, bend it to her will. And Discord doesn't like it. Now an unseen emptiness is stalking her.
A physical emptiness that wants her to be silent. Unless Allissa can master her new abilities, her fate may be the same as Michael's, possibly worse.
