Résumé

N 1862, the United States Congress passed the Morrill Act, which prohibited plural marriage in the territories (including Utah). The Mormon Church was force to comply with this law. In 1890, church president Wilford Woodruff issued a Manifesto that officially terminated the practice of polygamy. Some of the splinter groups continued to believe and practice it. Muslins also believe in polygamy and practice polygamy in the U.
S., despite state laws prohibiting it. Laws trying to regulate marriage are being disregarded today. People live together without getting married. Gays have obtained the rights to marry in many states and are being treated the same as heterosexual couples by the Federal Government. So it is just a matter of time until polygamy becomes legal in the U. S. This story takes place after polygamy has become legal and socially acceptable. Strong, his four wives, and eight children moved into the White House a few years into the future.
He was the first Mormon to be elected President of the United States and was a moderate Republican. During his first term, his wives talked him into marrying a black woman, who was a Baptist and a Hispanic woman, who was a Catholic. They were both in Congress and were Democrats. His democrat wives could also be counted on to vote for his ideas. This story is suitable for all age groups.
