The Okaji, one of seven renegade clans, have honored the tenuous peace observed by the clans for nearly two decades. Led by the enigmatic Gjinma, the Okaji begin their murderous consolidation of power. When the Okaji's bloody conquest results in the death of the famed Sword of the West and his entire family, the clan makes the mistake of leaving one boy alive. A chance encounter with the Takase clan, the Okaji's greatest rival, gives the boy his only chance at vengeance.
