Résumé

This collection of stories set in the Anglo-Saxon period begins with a novella about Brother Boniface, a monk who becomes the victim of a Viking raid. It also includes the story of Offa's single combat in the English homeland of Angeln, Sigurd's fight with the dragon Fafnir, Beowulf's fight with the troll-wife, and several other lays and legends including a poem which explores what might have happened if the greatest Celtic warrior (King Arthur) were to be matched with the greatest Germanic warrior (Beowulf).

Biographie de Christopher Webster

Christopher Webster was brought up in Conisbrough, Yorkshire, which is well-known for its magnificent castle. The castle and its link with England's founding father, Hengest, inspired his interest in the Anglo-Saxon period. His first publication was Poetry Through Humour and Horror. This was followed by many more publications, including a wide range of fiction, drama and poetry and his "masterpiece" pentalogy, English Dawn.
He is married to a Filipina, has four children, and is currently a retired and living in the Philippines.
