Résumé

Children on the Autism spectrum can learn and grow using their own creative process. With the right understanding, parents and professionals can help their children thrive by offering them adapted and creative projects that tap into strengths. This book combines theory as well as hands-on strategies by defining the practice of art therapy, the DIR Floortime approach, background on social stories, sensory processing, and other related topics.
The chapters are broken down to allow the reader to navigate topics independently. Written by a credentialed art therapist with clinical experience, this book is a brief and basic primer for those that are interested learning more about the uses of art therapy and creative ways to work with children who have Autism and related disorders.
