Résumé

Independent, alone, without a partner, and without a meaningful network of support, an unexpected diagnosis of malignant metastatic melanoma already in one's lymph system was justifiably alarming.  With only a 20% chance of survival, a dubious future and severe treatments on the horizon, Life itself halted and switched to living in the moment.            At Sea: Surviving a Medial Tsunami describes a courageous triumph over adversity as survival days morphed into weeks and survival weeks into months.
It is a story of patient empowerment and kernels of hope that - given the odds - produced a medical miracle. And, it provides a roadmap for others to understand the initial responses of denial, anger, and fear - and the need to gain Acceptance while maintaining control. Indeed, the lessons learned during that cancer struggle became a lifeline when confronting another life-altering crisis.            Learn the importance of making the affirmative choice to be among the survivors and how, having bought time for medical science to advance, the word "Cured" can enter your Life.

Biographie de Ann M Galvani

ANN M. GALVANI is a reformed Minnesotan and retired complex litigation attorney whose Wall Street career began at Cravath, Swaine & Moore (where she was one of the few women attorneys in the early 1970's) and concluded at Boies, Schiller & Flexner (where she was one of the first women equity partners). During her legal career, she defended multinational corporations on high profile litigations and was named one of the country's top women lawyers in The Vault's "View from the Top: Advice from Legal Woman Leaders." Between those two career frontiers, Ann took a different tack more compatible with raising her two children, taking on pro bono and political commitments that led to new experience in law, finance, and public policy.
Alongside the joy of family life during this interlude, she cultivated a passion for jewelry - a passion that survived a major theft, two medical tsunamis, and financial setbacks. Weathering those storms enabled her to rebuild four separate jewelry collections from scratch - truly the silver lining in those clouds. But as it turns out, bad weather makes great stories. Learn the backstories, mysteries, and fantasies about Ann's quest to restore her lost treasures (and stories she has learned along the way) and read as theft, exploitation, and a con-artist heist unfold with poignancy, drama, and humor.
The Jewels of My Life . and Other Mysteries is sure to captivate your fantasy, challenge your deductive skills, or shock your sensibilities. Indeed, join the conversation, if you please, on twitter or email, because doesn't every jewelry-lover have a yarn to add? Ann's larger journey through life is recounted in the Uncharted Waters series that describes how this secondborn, inspired in childhood to reach higher, regularly encountered and then pursued the "seemingly impossible." Along with perseverance and good humor, that mindset empowered her from the Midwest, to Wall Street, to Motherhood and Politics, and back, through Glass Ceilings, to Medical Miracle, and produced a Life Master, an Author, and more. @jewelsmystery anninthemoment@gmail.com
