The story of Barnitts, a family owned, independent department store trading in the heart of York since 1896. Over 125 years of heritage in three parts. Part 1 of the book explores the shops earliest days through to current times and all the changes that have taken place. Part 2 is just photographs comparing the same spots in store from past to present. The final part shares many of the laughs and fun enjoyed through the years between people who worked there and the customers they serve.
