Just when they had finished dealing with the Order of the Nyx, Enlil and friends must confront the number one cause of death among his kind, the Anoshiruvan family when they kidnap a group of vampires. Among them Enlil's wife and daughter. As Enlil and Enki are forced to go in search of Eldorado, he sends a team headed up by Matlock and Whittington, two of his most trusted Custodians, to go in search of his loved ones.
Charlie soon regrets her harsh last words to Enlil when they find themselves in a cell somewhere in Syria. All they can do is hope and pray they are rescued in time before their enemy embarks on their favorite past time, torture. They soon find out who their allies are and who their foes but what none of them could have foreseen is the betrayal. Enki still plagued by the loss of his lover Kaden, must deal with Dagan, his newly found son as the boy desperately tries to get close to him.
Then tragedy strikes and his world gets turned upside down. But fate it seems is not done with him as things get much, much worse and he is forced to make the ultimate decision. Soon they find out what is hidden deep within the jungle, and nothing could have prepared them for what they find.
