Résumé

This book includes many pictures with commentary of the best viewpoints in Capitol Reef NP. Two vehicle loops are included, as is the scenic drive. The loops are the Cathedral Loop and the Loop the Fold. Each of these loops take a day. The scenic drive is a short drive south of the Visitors Center. The coverage includes other sights within the park, as well. Information regarding sights outside of the park near Hanksville area are also included.  Sights outside the park include the Hanksville-Burpee Dinosaur Quarry, the Barrier Canyon pictographs at Horseshoe Canyon, Goblin Valley State Park, the Temple Mountain Wash panel, Temple Mountain, and more.
Field work continues at the recently discovered Hanksville-Burpee Dinosaur Quarry. The Great Galley Barrier Canyon Style pictographs at Horseshoe Canyon endure as globally significant symbols by early humans. Staying in Hanksville for Horseshoe Canyon, a separate unit of Canyonlands National Park, beats traveling from Moab. This guide also provides suggestions for free and fee RV/camping sites.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Bruce D. Clark

I was born in state far away in the early 1950s while my father was getting his masters degree in geology. I spent my formative years in Indian and Spanish uranium boom towns in New Mexico. I went to high school in Oklahoma. I worked my way up in the oil field to be a supervisor of offshore operations on international assignment. I saved enough to pay for law school. I obtained two law degrees from Mc George School of Law.
I managed a policy unit for the State of California and provided guidance and instructions on compliance with federal and state healthcare initiatives. Retirement from that position allows me to pursue more enjoyable writing projects. I have a Facebook page where I can post high quality, color images. The email button works. If you see something you like and want to see a better version, I can post full size pictures to an album or send it by other means.
I'm willing to discuss providing photographs on professional grade photo papers or Giclée.
