Maria S. P Uran, or M. S. P Uran, grew up in Lewoleba, Lembata, NTT, Indonesia, in a devoted Catholic family that valued education and service. After moving to the Northern Territory, Australia, she earned a double degree in Business and Law and a master's degree in law. Initially working as a lawyer, Maria switched careers to become a teacher and obtain a degree in science. Maria Sariyana is not just a teacher but a knowledge-sharer.
Her passion for language teaching is evident in her writings about her teaching journey, innovative methods, and the challenges of language education. Her completed book about lost dogs and her current project, a colouring book combining simple sentences in Indonesian and English with animal wisdom, are both platforms for sharing knowledge. Maria's love for storytelling is a tool she uses to share her interests, language, and good character with her readers.
She is currently working on a book about her teaching journey.
