Résumé

CityZen: an eco-friendly city that uses its incredible trees to heal a post-apocalyptic Earth. Amal, an ultra-committed high school student, is ready to do her part as soon as she finishes her studies. But she'll have to contend with her sister, Sana, an activist who's determined to destroy this ethical city-a bastion of short supply chains and degrowth... Torn between her love for her sister and her environmental beliefs, Amal will have to choose a side!French singer Jain steps away from the world of music to write this unexpected, entertaining, and uncompromising reflection on environmentalism.

À propos des auteurs

Jain was born in Toulouse in 1992. She grew up immersed in diverse cultures, having lived in Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and France. Nourished by the musical influences of her parents, from Aretha Franklin to Janis Joplin and Otis Redding, Jain quickly began playing the guitar and drums before composing her own songs which she recorded with the help of Mr. Flash. When Jain met Yodelice in Paris, she was signed to his label Spookland.
Her first album "Zanaka" was released in 2015 and nominated for a Grammy Award in early 2018. With "Souldier, " her second album, she dove into her curiosity about the world. In 2022, along with the publication of her first comic book "CityZen" (with Toledano, Robledo, Léa Galice, and Perez) with Dupuis (Europe Comics in English), she's working on her third album. Damien Perez was born in 1972 with a yearning that pushed him towards the world of comics, where he could have fun in a thousand different ways.
He has worked as a journalist for "BoDoï, " "Vécu, " "Casemate, " "Tchô !" and as an interviewer and editor for "Le Journal Spirou." Being a father of four with an interest in transmitting knowledge, he founded and directed "Groom, " a magazine deciphering current events for children in the form of comics. The biggest names in the profession, as well as public figures from all walks of life, participated in the creation a few issues that were widely read and talked about, before "Groom" came to an end in 2017.
Perez was also the editor of a "Méga Spirou" edition dedicated to Gaston (2018), a project that gave him the opportunity to meet Nobel Prize winners, politicians, authors, and actors, all fans of Franquin's character. He has also edited a few albums for Dupuis, including "Deathfix, " by Nix and Benus and "Complotistes, " by Fabrice Erre and Jorge Bernstein. As a writer, he has created several albums, including "I.
N. R. I - L'enquête, " with Denis Falque and Didier Convard (Glénat), the series "L'Ordre du chaos, " with Sophie Ricaume (Delcourt), and "CityZen, " (Dupuis; Europe Comics in English) a science-fictional and ecological one-shot with the singer Jain, Léa Galice, Marcial Toledano, and José Robledo. In his spare time, he also participates in round tables and drawing battles in various comic festivals in France and Belgium. Passionate about comics, adventures, and learning about various-and sometimes absurd-things, it is quite naturally that Léa threw herself enthusiastically into co-writing "CityZen" (Dupuis; Europe Comics in English) when her sister Jeanne (Jain) asked her to participate in the project alongside her. Her first comic book, "Jim & Kim, " was written when she was 9 years old.
It was an inspiring and exciting story about two soul mates who meet, work, and fall in love for life. Later, she managed to deconstruct these capitalist, patriarchal, and Judeo-Christian clichés. At the age of 33, after many experiences abroad, 15 years living in Paris, and 3 companies created in cycling, product development, and video games, this project represents the realization of a childhood dream. Born in Talavera de la Reina in 1980, Toledano has a degree in fine arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, where he met José Robledo in 2001.
That same year they were selected for the National Illustration and Comics competition of Injuve, which ultimately allowed them to be published by Sinsentido in a collective album "Tapa Roja" in 2003. They also worked on pre-production and production of animated cartoons. During 2005 and 2006, they participated in various drawing exhibitions and travel diaries for "L'Espace Sinsentido, " "Pantha Rei, " and "Estampa." In 2006, Diábolo published a compilation of their short stories.
In 2007, they started working on their first Franco-Belgian series, "Ken Games" with publisher Dargaud. In 2012, they participated in a collective project "WW 2.2, " and in 2016 the pair released the first volume of "Tebori" (Dargaud; Europe Comics in English), a tattoo-embellished Japanese mafia thriller. They also work as graphic designers and illustrators for Belio, MGZ, CALLE20, Sony, and the Madrid City Council.
In 2022, Toledano and Robledo collaborated once more, along with Jain, Léa Galice, and Damien Perez, to create "CityZen" (Dupuis; Eruope Comics in English). José Robledo was born in Madrid in 1979. Although he started by studying philosophy, followed by a course on film writing, he ended up earning a degree in fine arts from Complutense University in Madrid. There, in 2001, he met Marcial Toledano, with whom he would collaborate many times in the years to come.
They've achieved great success in France with the "Ken Games" series, published by Dargaud (beginning in 2009; Europe Comics in English), which introduced them to the general public. In 2012, Robledo wrote the script for the second volume of the series "WW 2.2, " also by Dargaud, and in early 2016, he began work on the Japanese mafia thriller "Tebori" (Dargaud; Europe Comics in English). In 2022, he collaborated with Toledano once more, as well as with Jain, Léa Galice, and Damien Perez, to create "CityZen" (Dupuis; Eruope Comics in English).
