Sam's story continues in Collide. She had him. Charles: the man responsible for the missing hikers. He even confirmed that he'd killed them. She had Charles. And Ben let him go. Her mission was clear: Find the John Doe responsible for the missing hikers and make an arrest. She had pictured coming back into the office in triumph, excited to prepare her report and close this case. She imagined testifying at the trial and hearing the gavel come down on his life sentence as the hikers' family members cried and hugged each other in relief, having answers and justice at last.
