Résumé

At first, Alexandra thought it was a dream. She would just lie there in the forest, quite still, until she really work up. But the bird-like little girl tugged at her hand again. She tried to explain: "I'm Zan, and I'm lost." The little girl only smiled, clearly not understanding. That was how Alexandra Scarsdale first encountered the Orathi, the gentle forest-dwellers. She woke from her own private sorrow in a mysterious, peaceful world that seemed removed from time.
The Orathi called her 'Tsan, which in their language meant 'stranger, ' but as she learned their words and their ways it became clear that she had been sent to them for some special purpose. And when emissaries from the City came with their cruel demands, Zan knew what her destiny was. Only she could protect her new friends from the peril that threatened them. Zan's quest was to take her far into alien lands, and it brought her a little band of companions whose unexpected talents combined with hers to win a surprising success.
Colors in the Dreamweaver's Loom is a fantasy in the grand tradition, filled with varied and fascinating characters and rich in color and adventure.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Beth Hilgartner

I grew up in Rochester, NY, where I started school long before there were personal computers (much less cell phones). I discovered reading and books at a very early age, but it wasn't until I was in 5th Grade that it ever occurred to me to wonder about where all those amazing stories actually came from. (If I'd been asked where books came from, I would probably have rolled my eyes and said, "The library.") But once I figured out that someone had had to write down those stories I found so compelling, it was only a very short step to deciding that I could (and should) do that myself.
I promptly started writing my very first book: The War of the Sun and the Moon - the first book of a trilogy (I'd discovered Tolkien by 5th Grade, too); and I was off and running. Now, many decades later, I live in an 1809 Greek revival brick house (which needed and is getting a ton of work!) in the city of Barre, VT, with my husband and one rather spoiled house cat. Though we haven't been at this address very long, the growing season is already looming large for gardening projects! In addition to my writing, I also spend inordinate amounts of time creating modern performing editions of 17th and 18th century musical works by composers most people have never heard of -- and then performing them with my Baroque trio, Cameo Baroque.
