Twitch groaned, dropping his quill. Across the room, lounging on a pile of soft hay, was Squeak, the overly confident leader of the ferrets.
He gave a lazy stretch, yawning as if he hadn't a care in the world."Twitch, you worry too much, " Squeak said, his voice smooth and assured. "We've got plenty of gold, enough to last for generations. No one's going to steal it."Twitch shook his head, his eyes wide with worry. "You don't understand, Squeak! The treasure isn't just for us! It's for the town's festival, the new playground, everything! If something happens to it, we'll be ruined!
