Résumé

Digger the Wonder Dog still has no human family. Now, he lives in the Flinders Ranges, befriended by the people who visit as tourists, or who have homes there. He has decided, it is his job to take care of everyone in the Flinders, whether human, bird or animal, and every day he goes looking for someone to help. That's how he meets Bobby, a small boy who reminds him of Will, who loved him when he was a puppy.
He is happy visiting Bobby. Bobby's mother is recording rock paintings in caves and shelters. A man pretending to be a tourist wants to catch Digger, and take him far away from the Flinders. Digger is afraid he will be locked up in a crate on the back of the man's truck. Can the locals help the dog stay free? Can Digger help when danger threatens Bobby and his mother? And will he eventually find a new human family?

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Barbara Randell

Barbara was born in a small Australian town in 1942, educated for 9 years in a one-roomed school with all grades taught by a single teacher. She then left home at 14, to spend 4 years in a girls' boarding school, followed by 8 years at Universities. After marrying and raising 2 daughters, she taught in high schools, universities and adult education for 20 years.  She is now widowed and has a teenage grandson.
She has been writing stories ever since childhood, her chief influences are Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and Ngaio Marsh. Her adult stories are mostly gentle romances. She also writes specifically about Australia: a memoir of growing up on a farm in the 1950s, and cosy mysteries set in scattered sites across Australia, all of which she has visited and knows well.
