Résumé

Nominated for Best Novel in the British Science Fiction Association Awards 2021. Time is running out. Ro is no closer to waking the dragon than she was when her family was exiled from Iyessa. Her niece was born deaf and Ro's inability to feel the elements was blamed. Then, her only hope had been to find a cure for them both. Instead, they found themselves accused of murdering the king, becoming entangled in treachery and the struggle to make the worm all-powerful.
Now, people are falling into an unnatural sleep from which they cannot be roused, and Ro is blamed again. Forced to flee once more, Ro follows rumours of the dragon and the one who is not one that take the exiles further into danger, but are they any more than myths and tales? Can Ro find the dragon in time and save the world from chaos?

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de K S Dearsley

K. S. Dearsley began writing stories practically as soon as she could hold a pencil. She started with fiction and plays (often inspired by Dr. Who) and a series of secret agent 'novels' influenced by The Avengers and The Man from Uncle, and continued writing throughout a series of jobs before returning to university to get an MA in Linguistics and Literature. She finally got to be a professional writer, freelancing for newspapers, magazines and businesses.
She is now a prize-winning playwright and short story writer (The Jo Cowell Award, Dark Tales, Lymm Festival, Sussex Radio Playwriting etc.), and her work has appeared in various publications on both sides of the Atlantic, including Daily SF, Dark Horizons, QWF, Time for Bedlam and Diabolical Plots. When she is not writing she practises Tai Chi and daydreams about living in a warm country.
