Résumé

Dr. Mitchell Oberon, married to her career, is unprepared when a recovering John Doe patient ends up in her spinsterish apartment. Mitchell never expected to be a mother, and certainly not the foster mother of a 30-ish, muscular man who knows no more than a child, but she's learning fast. John is learning fast, too. He learns to speak English, in addition to his native French, he learns to read, and he proves to be an amazing painter.
Neither he nor Dr. Oberon knows the name of the girl in all of John(Jean)'s paintings. Nor do they suspect that, before a murder attempt left him severely damaged, he was an undercover Homeland Security agent called Yves Dubreau, a/k/a Duby. Duby's enemies will kill him if they find him. And if he keeps incorporating the face of his enemy's daughter into his popular, quick-selling paintings, Duby and his doctor will be found sooner rather than later.
When a "friend" betrays them, and deadly foes attack, will Duby and the doctor be strong enough and smart enough to stay together and alive?
