Young English woman, Elizabeth's first impression of 1960 small-town Australia is hardly an optomistic one. Far from home, she must find her way to her aging great-aunt's homestead in a country that is harsh and unforgiving. A normally pragmatic Elizabeth meets the one person who will come to her rescue: Bill. What an ideal coincidence for Elizabeth--or is it? As the story unfolds, we also discover Aunt Josephine's character, and why she made the long journey to Australia many years before.
Elizabeth travels a similar journey, but for very different reasons. As we empathise with Elizabeth and the predicament she now finds herself in, we wonder: is the choice for an 'adventure of a lifetime' Elizabeth's alone, or does Aunt Josephine's influence carry far over the seas?
