According to science it was the inflation and expansion of the sub-atomic quantum realm into the macrocosmic realm that occurred in the first four hundred thousand years after the Big Bang that ushered in the Universe in which we exist now. New stars and galaxies are still being born. Each and every one of us may be likened to an elementary sub atomic particle as it makes its journey into being. On the scale of atom, human body and galaxy, our consciousness is experiencing all this on an analogous level.
If science is correct in attributing the 'Big Bang' to infinitesimally small particles in the subatomic realm which exploded and formed the Universe, as we know it, it is very conceivable that our bodies harbor such particles capable of doing something similar as well. Think of 'spontaneous combustion' without being saturated with 180 proof Gin. The size of the average human body is roughly halfway between the size of our galaxy, the Milky Way, and the size of an atom.
From the perspective of an atom, the human body is a Galaxy. If we can unleash the power of a Hiroshima from a few kilos of plutonium, just how much energy can the human body unleash? It is calculated that the average human body contains no less than (7 x 1018) joules of potential energy, enough to explode with the force of 30 hydrogen bombs. Our individual 'enlightenment' experiences are perhaps a journey to and from this sub-atomic field, this dark matter, dark energy spectrum into the manifest Cosmos.
Every birth and death (event horizons) are perhaps journeys to and from a wormhole where we perhaps leave or partake imprints of our life experiences in a holographic projection which passes on our evolutionary trajectory through time, memory, and experience, something that could also be called re-incarnation or karma or evolution. 'Enlightenment, ' could be none other than an out of body experience through a wormhole into parallel dimensions.
Places where we perhaps get a glimpse of other realities while we are still alive, outside the 'box' in which we are habituated. This could be also true for all 'living' entities from amoebae to whales. The late Oliver Sachs1 has written extensively about 'Ocular Migraine' and the "complex patterns one might see in a migraine aura -hexagons and geometrical patterns of many shapes, including fractal patterns".
These are called 'phosphenes' and the phenomenon is labeled 'photopsia'. What I saw and experienced was in the molecular, cellular level of my consciousness. A firestorm between the synapses in my brain that generated an organic sub-atomic quantum world. My experience may be pointing at the roots of what constitutes consciousness itself.
