Résumé

In 19th century Germany, the paths of two unlikely lovers mysteriously intertwine. Can two people so wrong for each other be so right? With an eclectic cast of characters from royalty to mercenary, "Gypsy Violin" is a sweet and sexy read that moves right along with aplomb. It's 1888 and the industrial revolution is in full swing. Steam power, trains, telegraph systems transform daily life to bring people and information together with exciting speed.
Germany is a young county, unified in 1870, a nation of contrasts where modern technology burgeons alongside city slums and crime, progressive arts flourish, and new ways of thinking evolve. Daughter of a wealthy Count, Marianna is twenty years old, well educated, and an accomplished dancer. Several suitors vie for her hand. She looks forward to leaving the town of Stuttgart for a glorious summer at Schönblick Castle in the Black Forest.
The night before, she and her friends seek entertainment at a gypsy encampment just out of town. Fascinated by the music and dancing, she follows the sound of a violin, and her life will never be the same. Anton is a wanted man, wanted by the authorities for breaking out of prison, wanted by a spolied Prinzessa for breaking her heart. Separated from his family at an early age, he's determined to discover what happened to them.
His journey leads him from Berlin to Stuttgart and on to the Black Forest. Amid boisterous spring celebrations at the castle, a fateful night forces him into hiding. When Marianna stumbles upon his refuge, he knows he can't let her go.* * * * *

Biographie de Sylvia Rose

Hello from Canada! The Rhine Maidens are gracing my profile pic as they inspire many tales. My stories and books are influenced by Germanic history, myth and magic. Being first generation Canadian with German heritage I also heard many fascinating tales growing up. You'll find plenty in the Lora Ley Fantasy Fiction Series. And, just finished Reiker For Hire, a thrilling Victorian detective crime novella trilogy.
In process is a Bronze Age adventure Cult of the Fire God, in which heroine Kah'ni must leave her northern European home near the Baltic. Accompanied by a jaded Fate Goddess, a canny traveling merchant, a snobbish Hellene and a mad shaman, she journeys south in an unforgettable quest to find her sister Shana.
