Jake's mission was to pilot the shuttle and take Professor Ingles and a probe to the giant structure. It would create an artificial wormhole that would make it possible to bridge the immense distance between stars. He had no idea that it would suck in the shuttle, and he would end up in a world with alien creatures and one of them saved his life. He made a life with them on Halo and never thought he would be rescued.
Now his mission is to make sure the humans don't screw up their world.
