Biographie de Alicia Sweet
My journey started when I began to play soccer at the age of four. Sports were my life growing up and taught me many things such as dedication, commitment, hard work, leadership and teamwork. I became a success athlete with very successful teams, including winning a basketball state championship and playing in soccer world championships, earning an All-American award. When it was time for college, I was accepted into the Physical Education department at SUNY Cortland. I was so excited to get out of Buffalo and start a new life chapter, not knowing that this would lead to one of the hardest battles of my life. After my first semester of eating unhealthy, partying, drinking and putting myself in bad situations, I had to make a change. I was still making A grades but I needed to get myself back to a healthy lifestyle. During that second semester, I started running more, made the gym a priority 6 days per week and changed my diet completely. As the disciplined and obsessive person I can be, this "healthy" lifestyle went down a very dark slope. At first, the little weight I lost still left me in a normal, healthy spot. But as more and more weight came off, the more I became obsessed. Soon, I was losing friends, missing out on relationships and only focused on food, exercise and perfect grades...not living life to the fullest like a college kid should.
