In the beginning, this was a standalone. But our heroes (and we use that term loosely), August Morrison and Ricardo Torralba, weren't satisfied with just one story. Sooo our "standalone" morphed into a five-book series, and here we are. The adventure begins when August and Ricardo - hired guns and professional rivals - are pitted against each other and ultimately have to work together. They are, of course, displeased by this, but given that they made us write five books instead of one, they deserve it.
