The Iraq War is the Third Gulf War that was initiated by themilitary invasion of Iraq by the US Troops in March 2003. The invasion was also the result of the seizure of Iraq and itsmajor cities by the allies of the United States to bring anconclusion to the Baath Party of Saddam Hussein who was awell-known leader of the Baath party and the 5th President ofIraq. The chief cause of the Iraq War could be related to theGWOT (Global War on Terrorism) which was declared by theUnited States President George W.
Bush in response to theterrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 11th September2001. The events of the Iraq War were both brutal and severe onboth the sides including the Iraqi army and the common manas well as on the US Army and its allies. It resulted in thedefeat of the Iraqi Army and the exposure and the executionof the Baath party leader Saddam Hussein. The war alsoresulted in the mass casualty of thousands of army men alongwith the common men, especially children among the dead andthe severely wounded.
In addition to the loss of life, the waralso resulted in heavy economic losses in terms of several USMillion dollars at the cost of heavy armaments and missiles. The paper discusses the covert as well as the overt reasonsand causes of the Iraq War or the Third Gulf War in additionto the different aims and objectives of the United States and itsallies. The paper also discusses the course of the Iraq War andthe consequences which had to be faced both on the face ofIraq and the United States as well.
This paper would also shedlight on the dire consequences of the aftermath of the IraqWar on all the aspects of the Iraq Government and also onthe United States government including the economic, political, military, social and on humanitarian levels. At last, the trueintentions of the main reasons of the Iraq War have beenspeculated and interpreted in a broader sense.
