Résumé

Things are getting' heavy, and I'm traveling light, Goodbye you Jaded Lover you undercover queenfor a day. --- Jerry Jeff WalkerIn this love quadrangle, genealogy plays a vital role in wealth versus the poor and sex versus love. Mix in a hint of whodunnit in the murder of one of the characters, and you have a two-volume set of trying to catch the killer and figure out the hidden skeletons in the closet.
Everyone loves a love triangle, especially when it's two triangles that come together at the same time, just as long as they are not part of it.  Obviously, it's the other characters' drama that makes us feel better about our own lives. In this moving story of mystery and intrigue, there's so much for the reader to find in the conflict and resolutions of the cutthroat dealings of what were thought once to be best friends.
The setting of this novel take place along the west coast of the United States in Black Rock Cove, Oregon. The main characters come from three wealthy families, one to the north, one to the south, and one right along the coastline in downtown Black Rock Cove. The year is 1882. Reggie Scott is in love with Julia Esser and was one day away from marrying the wealthy young woman, heir to the largest estate on the west coast in Oregon.
They have both been promised to one another since they were very young children. However, Reggie didn't know until one day before the wedding, his best friend and best man dug up a frightening mystery of his past.  He used it against him to try and steal Julia, the woman he loved, and make her his own. Overnight Reggie left on the midnight train to travel to New Orleans to find out the truth of this mystery.
He needed to know and couldn't bear letting anyone in on this mysterious past he possessed. Streaming tears cleansed Julia's red cheeks the day she was left standing at the altar. Her vision was blurred with waves of sadness. The salty tears flowed into her mouth so that she could taste her own sorrow. Why did Reggie not call or show up for the wedding? Where did he go? Would he ever return?Julia experienced bitter and unforgiving pain in her heart.
Best Man, Marco Ross and his twin sister, Angie, conspired to win the hearts of Julia and Reggie. In our story, conflict is a vital ingredient. Relationships are flat without it. Love triangles are beyond any doubt dull without it.  However, in this two-volume set of THE WHODUNNIT SERIES, there's positively a struggle, discomfort, a lot of inner-strife, and maybe a murder or two!

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Sidney St. James

Sidney St. James is a published author, professional genealogist, historian, world traveler, photographer, and distinguished public speaker. Passionate about what he does, his stories will transport you to another time and place. He began writing his first novel, Adversity - Seeking the Faith, in the spring of 1995. It appeared on bookshelves with very little fanfare.  It was the beginning of six novels in his Faith Chronicles Series.
He follows a family from Oldenburg, Germany as they travel to Texas in 1845 and face many adversities along the way to establish a new life in a new country.  His second in the series was The Rose of Brays Bayou which is a true story written from the memoirs of Dilue Rose Harris of the Runaway Scrape in Texas. His third in the series was Faith - Seventy Times Seven, a true story about the first ordained woman minister in the State of Louisiana and how she found forgiveness every day for twenty years from an abusive and alcoholic husband.
Thirty-six more novels follow his first series in Science Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Romance Suspense and Thrillers, and Religion genres. Speaking of romance, James is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's a lot of kissing, much to the embarrassment of his two grown daughters. His wife doesn't complain, however. When he's not reading or writing sexy stories, he's probably playing Black Desert Online or Riders of Icarus with his wife or on the Xbox playing Tiger Wood's golf game or downtown Georgetown, Texas playing Pokémon. He also loves to play matchmaker in his paranormal romances and young adult series, transporting readers to a place where the bold heroes have endearing flaws, the women are smarter than they lead on, the land is lush and untamed, and chivalry is alive and well. He lives near Sun City in Georgetown, Texas with his wife Barbara and a cat named "Fluffy" and he can occasionally be found wearing a tie.
and I do mean "occasionally." As a Best Selling Author, James writes sweet, fun and action-packed detective mystery books with two super exciting detectives, Vincent Gideon, and Bridget Flynn. They both are smart and fearless, but in real life, James is afraid of going upstairs when it's dark behind him.
