Kaunjika was a hawker in a rural region of the Mangala Empire. He was also a friend of animals. His lowly occupation took him through forests, across rivers and brought him face to face with wild animals, which he came to love and befriend. Emperor Kamalinza ruled with an iron fist. His word was law. And so were his thoughts. He had wide interests and a long arm. Like Kaunjika, he was a lover of animals.
