Résumé

A Blended Family by Spring for The Widower - A woman is shocked when the pastor at their church suggests that by Spring, he could see all of the single women in his congregation married. She begins a correspondence with a man and also knows that a neighbor is corresponding with a woman himself. A very surprising meeting occurs as she and her daughter travel to Kansas City for a first meeting. A Miracle for The Orphan From New York & The Cowboy Furniture Maker in Nevada -- An orphan on the run from police, boards a train headed somewhere and then takes refuge in a compartment where an older woman sits quietly.
The pastor in charge of the group of mail order brides assigns her a husband and as she travels to their destination, the other woman in her compartment feeds her, brushes her hair and then gives her a pretty dress before they arrive at their destination. What happens after that is a miracle in every sense of the word. She runs out of funds in St. Louis and it's only through the kindness of strangers that she is saved.
On the other hand, her cowboy has many trials of his own and it's only through the kindness of strangers also, and one in particular, that there is a chance of them ever meeting up. Across Rough Seas to Her California Cowboy - A pregnant and widowed English woman travels across rough seas, trying to reach her promised mail order husband in California. She runs out of funds in St. Louis and it's only through the kindness of strangers that she is saved.
On the other hand, her cowboy has many trials of his own.
