When Rett, a popular high school jock has to get the popular cheerleader, Tia, to fall for him, he struggles to talk to her. Rett shows up to class on a Saturday for extra English tutoring lessons where he meets Connor, another student who's his tutor for the day. Connor has always been nerdy and shy and quiet but has a skill for writing poetry. To Connor's surprise, Rett opens up to him about his crush on Tia.
Connor suggests Rett write her a poem but Rett tells him he's bad at words. When Connor writes a poem for Rett, Tia immediately loves it. But Tia starts asking for more poetry and Rett begs Connor to write more. As Connor writes Tia starts falling hard for Rett but the more time Connor and Rett spend together the more they start liking each other instead. But Rett is straight and can't possibly be gay, right?
