Briefly reunited after years of exile and captivity, Tasha and Marko must now separate again-she to lead the wives and children of the freedom fighters to safety under the protection of her father's friend King Jashon-he to lead his band of volunteer soldiers back to their homeland. Marko and his men must overthrow the usurper King Comnor, reestablish the Republic of Ren, and restore freedom to their people. But the danger Tasha faces in a foreign court may be even greater than the danger of battle.
