Résumé

Originally published as 8 short stories, the old west comes alive in this tale of vengeance, comradeship, justice and family, by author Ron Lewis, together in one volume for the first time. Michelle Tanner begins a journey west in 1864 from Washington Town, as the American nation's capital was called, to Denver City. It becomes a perilous trek, filled with a gunfight here and there, disease, and new friendships.
And lurking in the shadows, a madman intent on revenging himself on one of the main characters. As if the madman's murder of Joseph Nathan Meeker's family wasn't enough, 'Bone Picker' harbors an intent to kill Meeker and anyone with him. Through unusual circumstances, an odd collection of travelers are thrown together. Along the way this group becomes family. Join Michelle Tanner, Nathan 'Sleeps with Bears' Meeker, Henry Buffalo Head, and Sarah Culbertson in their expedition to the mining fields of Colorado Territory.
Meet the tiniest outlaws in the west, the Packer Twins, and a mountain of a man named Macy Tucker. See how Marshal Hamilton handles an outlaw gang holding an entire town hostage. Beware, there is a malevolent fiend named Daniel 'Bone Picker' Hannover (also called Two Tongues) out for revenge.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Ron Lewis

Ron Lewis has had a life long interest and love of both history and westerns. Blending fact and fiction together, mixing real characters and those created from whole cloth, his stories are his views of the old west of the 19th century. Mr. Lewis's roots in Oklahoma reach back to the 19th century when is his great-grandfather John moved though the Indian territories, and eventually Oklahoma territory yearly.
He operated a traveling musical group who sold a panacea concoction most often called "Snake Oil."Eventually his grandfather, John Henry, settled in the Winding Stair Mountains of eastern Oklahoma, very near to Robbers Cave. John Henry worked for a mining company as an elevator operator. His grandfather was well known and all who knew him knew his credo in life. "I don't want to be higher than picking corn or lower than digging potatoes."Hearing stories from his father, uncles and grandfather about life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries kindled a love for those bygone days.
Many of these stories are the basis for his writing.
