Résumé

Set in the mid 1800's in the territory now known as Montana. The story centers around a young man, Michael Patrick Calhan 'Cully' for Short, the Sioux Indians and one Melissa Gabrielle Cristina Crawford, the only child of Judge Elias Crawford and his wife. The judge and his family came out to this territory to prove it could be civilized and it was their right to make this nation stretch from east to west. The treaties were made especially after that fateful June day.
A battle that still sends shivers down one's spine. A little more than a year ago, a mining company from DC sent a party of men to go into the hills and dig for gold. Digging in the land that was sacred to the Sioux and now the cause of what looked like hostiles between the two again. Raids from all sections of the territory sent hard working decent farmers and their families to Fort. Bennett for safety, for themselves and their families.
It was at the request of Captain Douglas Stiles that Captain Michael Patrick Culhane Jr, Cully was with orders, to report to the fort and his old friend Doug. Not only was Cully an expert scout, he was also the great grandson of Sioux Chief Black Hawk. It was on his way with his orders, this young man and the judge's seventeen year old tomboy daughter crossed paths and it was the day destiny would change for both of them.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Louise Riveiro-Mitchell

Louise Riveiro-Mitchell started writing in her teens. Growing up in the 60's, she became fond of westerns and one could find her sitting on a chair watching whatever western was on. The Virginian, The Tall Man, Laramie, Wagon Train, Laredo etc. She started to pick up their vernacular and at times people find it hard to believe she's from New York. She wrote her first book in 2001 and if it wasn't for her late husband's insistence, it would never have led to others and two poetry books.
She has also ghostwritten over 37 historical westerns. Not only does she love the genre, she finds that era in our history interesting. She lives in Westchester County, New York and has two children and three grandchildren. She still watches those westerns from years ago.
