Résumé

From the mind of Taylor Dye. An unspeakable tragedy. A beloved child-all of ten years old-is found dead overnight, brutally murdered, his bed the site of a bloody crime scene. A traumatized mother, shocked into a near-comatose state, is surrounded and consoled by friends and neighbors, while a father, out of state on business, frantically rushes to return home. For Kendra Nichols and her fellow neighbors, it is hard-no, impossible-to imagine such an event occurring anywhere, much less in their own backyard.particularly as Kendra's own child-four-year-old Mozart Nichols-who she brought with her instead of leaving at home alone, slumbers innocently, vulnerably, on the wide front porch only feet away. In the days that follow, the police, led by Lieutenant Dmitriy, comb the crime scene and the rest of the neighborhood for clues on how such a horror could've taken place.
Before they can identify a suspect, however, they stumble onto an even more disturbing fact, one which leaves the typically quiet community on edge: the killing isn't over, and it's the children who are the targets. It's a race against time to find and stop a demented murderer before they can strike again-and it seems as though Kendra and Mozart are next in line. How far will you go to protect someone you love?
