The "Movie Chronicles" series of books are based upon the scripts for the "Movie Chronicles" podcast. In these books I am trying to portray the links between history and pop culture (and the history of pop culture) around the world. As a reader in English, I am happy to predict that, if you are watching the latest US blockbusters, then this is NOT the series for you. If you want to explore World Cinema, then hop on board for the ride.
None of the books in this series are definitive (in the meaning of covering every film from every country released in that particular year). It is more in the nature of a survey (in which there is a large amount of reviewer bias in the selection). I hope, at best, to peg out the general territory, and allow you to note some themes within a year through multiple countries. Welcome to the year 1909.
