Still, the clatter of the dish as it dropped the final inch to the table punctuated the silence that followed. Jenny merely smiled and thanked the server. "I swear, I thought I was going to split in half every time he ****ed me." She picked up her fork and cheerfully began to eat as the server stared at her, then walked off very briskly.
Her totally blasé attitude towards the topic of our conversation stunned me at first, but I got over it quickly. If she had had my job for a couple years, that explained a lot. Plus, her confidence was infectious, just like Megan's."You mean you don't miss me?" Melissa pouted with mock indignation. Jenny laughed. "I still have you. Have you slept with her yet, Bev?" she asked as she gathered a forkful of noodles.
