À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Marilyn Reynolds

Marilyn Reynolds is the author of numerous books including the memoir, 'Til Death and Dementia Do Us Part, the story of her husband's losing battle with frontotemporal dementia. Her popular and award-winning realistic teen fiction series, True-to-Life from Hamilton High, consists of eleven titles. She has also written a book for educators, I Won't Read and You Can't Make Me: Reaching Reluctant Teen Readers and the collection of essays, Over 70 and I Don't Mean MPH.
She has a variety of published personal essays to her credit and was nominated for an Emmy for the Too Soon for Jeff teleplay. Ms. Reynolds worked with reluctant learners at a southern California alternative high school for more than two decades.  She lives in Sacramento where she enjoys neighborhood walks, visits with friends and family, and the luxury of reading at odd hours of the day and night. ------ Also by Marilyn Reynolds Over 70 and I Don't Mean MPH: Reflections on the Gift of Longevity Written in a conversational tone with honesty and humor, this essay collection offers a compelling look at experiences and situations common to people over 70.
Part inspiration and part how-to, the writings explore subjects such as choosing a burial or cremation plan, living in a body that requires high maintenance, and being typecast as one who can only eat bland foods. The personal essays expose with irony and humor the often overlooked details of the trials of aging, yet also provide a deeper understanding of the necessity of reinvention late in life. Til Death or Dementia Do Us Part In her compassionately written memoir, Marilyn Reynolds provides a detailed account of her husband's puzzling symptoms of Frontotemporal Dementia and of his gradual decline.
This book will be helpful to many who have loved ones suffering from dementias of all types. Marilyn takes readers on a journey from the very early signs of the disease, through the emotional and practical adjustments required, changes to financial and living arrangements, etc., as her husband's disease progressed. It is written honestly and directly, and with courage. Order directly from http://www.
