Résumé

While its content and subject matter are as diverse as my first book, P. S. We Can. it's my hope you read this second book in light of things that can inspire, edify, ignite, and propel forward the most important person in your life today - you. I write about different things, ideas, and events (from classical history to the more recognizably, recent). I then sprinkle these with parables from history (even some from the Bible), as well as principles and laws from physics, mathematics, kinesiology, Einstein's Theory of Relativity, astronomy, the speed of light, music, and military history, along with many other disciplines and different things.
From them, I make certain truths, tenets, concepts, and constants about life (even our faith) come more to life. We reach into centuries past, or just a few decades back, to examine famous people's lives, from Amelia Earhart to the Beatles; from 1970s-era singer-songwriters to Paul McCartney, from a discussion of the sitcoms Seinfeld and Friends, and resulting social trends to the process of growing grapes for winemaking.
The conversations we have range from discussing the consequences of World War II to the history of the very beginning of Saturday Night Live and Chevy Chase; from Don Quixote to Clark W. Griswold. We look at the laws of physical science, our oceans, psychology, and physics, as well as the technical breakdown of Charles Manson's criminal intent in his horrific, 1969 murder plot. We examine things from Maslow's hierarchy of human needs and the findings of the famous psychologist Dr.
Freud, to updated social discussions rooted in Author Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel (a Russian novelist), Crime & Punishment written in 1866. We cover things from the music group Boston and a discussion of owning music rights, to a discussion behind the real reasons surrounding the creation of our vast Federal Highway System, even the top secret "Stealth Airplane" and the World Trade Center. From discussing the symbolism behind the famous works of Edgar Allan Poe to themes behind King Arthur in the Arthurian Legend, the Magna Carta, and the little-known, real reasons behind the inadmissibility of lie detector test results in court proceedings.
From a discussion on the lesser-known reasons behind the creation of Monday Night Football and betting syndicates in the world of sports, to ones on great American outlaws like "Billy the Kid" and modern human trafficking, and much more. Then, we find real-life takeaways. It's such a broad, diverse content field that we examine - it's really hard to describe it. You'll just have to take a look.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Chris Griswold

I'm a father, commercial business attorney (working in both Texas and Oklahoma for the past 20 years), author (both children's books as well as grown-up books), investor, speaker, professor, guest columnist, social activist, volunteer, and the writer of a monthly e-newsletter which has organically grown from 30 to 30, 000 subscribers. I love my clients, my students, and my work. I have the pleasure of teaching real estate courses to students at the University of Central Oklahoma.
I am originally born and raised in Dallas. Both of my parents were high school teachers. I played football and track in high school, while I mowed lawns in the summer. My older sister, Lisa, and my mother, Sandra, are the main inspirations in my life, along with my three incredible kids, Troy, Mackenzie, and Vance (small, medium, and large). My family and circle of friends are all people who make me better and encourage me.
I lost my father, an unborn child (both right before the Great Recession, and while starting a law firm) and a marriage. So, there's some of me in every American, I'd think.
