Résumé

What do a wild grizzly, a gibbon, a boy on a bike, and a lady in a hot air balloon have in common? They're all converging on the hills Pickhead calls home! That's right, dear reader, Pickhead-the pigheaded little red riding-hooded girl with the big pickax, who can talk to animals-is back for more rip-roaring, hair-raising adventures with her Grammy, her tap-dancing sister Milady, and forest critters both native and less so.
When a gibbon raised in captivity goes missing in the woods, Pickhead sets out to reunite him with his owner-while racing a forest fire!

À propos des auteurs

Frédéric Brémaud-also known under the pseudonyms of Brrémaud, Labrémure, and Lili Mésange-was born on March 11, 1973 in Seoul, South Korea. He spent his childhood in the north of the French department Deux-Sèvres and on the island of Noirmoutier. After studying in La Rochelle and Newcastle, he worked at the Centre national de la bande dessinée et de l'image, in Angoulême, where he met many authors.
A few years later, in 1999, he published his first album: volume 1 of "Coeur de royaume" (Soleil), illustrated by Benoît Vieillard. A prolific author, he never stopped writing! Today he has more than a hundred titles, of all genres and for all audiences, with Soleil, Glénat, Paquet, and Bamboo. In 2018, Frédéric Brémaud was nominated in the Early Readers category of the Eisner Awards. In 2021, he published volume 5 of "Love" (Vents d'Ouest), illustrated by Federico Bertolucci, which won the Jury Prize at the Lucca Comics Festival.
The same year, he joined Giovanni Rigano again to create "Les Terreurs des mers" (Vents d'Ouest) and "Lettres des animaux à ceux qui les prennent pour des bêtes" (Glénat). In 2022, Giovanni Rigano and Frédéric Brémaud started working with Dargaud and published the first volume of the series "Tête de pioche" ("Pickhead" in English, Europe Comics). Giovanni Rigano was born on December 8, 1977 in Cantù, Italy.
After studying science, he joined the Milan School of Comics at the age of 19. An education that allowed him to collaborate with renowned communication agencies. He then entered the Disney Academy, where he was involved in the creation of several series produced by the company. In 2003, he illustrated the second volume of "Monster Allergy" (Soleil). The following year, he worked on the first volume of "Daffodil" (Soleil and BD Edizioni), a series written by Brrémaud.
He then illustrated "Artemis Fowl" (French translation, Gallimard) and "Migrant" (Hachette, 2017), two graphic novels by Andrew Donkin and Eoin Colfer. Giovanni Rigano quickly reunited with Brrémaud; together they created "Lolika" (Le Lombard, 2011 and 2012), volume 4 of "Alix et Arsenou" (Clair de Lune, 2014), "Lehaïm" (Clair de Lune, 2015; co-written with Boris Czerny) and, in 2021, "Lettres des animaux à tous ceux qui les prennent pour des bêtes" (Glénat), and "Les Terreurs des mers" (Vents d'Ouest).
In 2022, the duo of authors are working with Dargaud on the first volume of "Tête de pioche" ("Pickhead" in English, Europe Comics).
