Biographie de Leigh K. Ware, D.Min, MSW
Leigh K. Ware, D. Min., MSW, ICAADC has been leading in forensic social work for more than 20 years. As a strategist, Dr. Leigh is passionate about educating and raising a standard to drive change within clinical, ministry, community and civic domains. She is a certified life coach and mentor, licensed internationally as a substance abuse counselor, and holds certification as a US Dept of Justice PREA Auditor.
She is the founder of the Leigh K Ware Group LLC, a boutique forensic social work consultancy. She has served as a professor and trainer in substance abuse, counseling, sexual harassment, criminal justice, and leadership. Dr. Leigh has led Diversity and Inclusion teams to advance agency standards and negotiate crisis and is an experienced speaker, facilitator, and presenter in professional and ministry settings.
She has been recognized and featured on National Public Radio (NPR), CT Public Radio, and Yale Broadcasting Network (WYBC) for her leadership and innovation in offender reentry and integrating public safety and community engagement as a violence reduction and community safety strategy. She has also been awarded the Visionary Leadership Award for innovative program design to reform offender reentry and leadership development.
Dr. Leigh's education includes BA in Sociology, MSW in Social Work, and D. Min in Biblical Counseling, and a Certificate from the Criminal Justice Command Institute. She completed a successful 22-year career with the State of Connecticut Department of Correction where she retired as a Parole Manager. She is a member of Christian Women Speakers, the Non-Fiction Authors Association, the American Correctional Association, and the Elevation TV Network where she facilitates a weekly show: Leadership AIR.
