Résumé

Every winter hundreds of thousands of people flock to Quartzsite's desert with their RV or camping equipment.    The BLM manages thousands of acres of public land in the surrounding desert where people camp at little or no cost. As a result, Quartzsite remains one of the most popular winter-season RVing areas in the world. La Posa LTVA remains one of the most popular. From your secluded camping area, gaze out across wide open spaces sprinkled with RVs and watch breathtaking The RV and Gem shows are world famous and attract people from across the US.
Others simply flock there to beat the winter cold and to enjoy the solitude. The RV and Gem shows are world famous and attract people from across the US. Others simply flock there to beat the winter cold and to enjoy the solitude. Seasonal vendors are the biggest business in town. You can find anything exploring block after block of vending areas.  Sooner or later you will want to explore the desert around you.
You need a guide. Service plummets a few miles from town. You need some sort of directions. Many worthwhile things to see and enjoy await you. Hike in solitude to scenic views or search for an abandoned Spanish silver mine and gems. Look for wild burros, Desert Bighorn, petroglyphs, and more. Most of all ~ enjoy the peaceful, wide open vistas the desert offers. The book includes many sites for mineral collecting and dry washing.
You also find information for viewing the plentiful birds in the sanctuaries along the lower Colorado River. Every summer the winter visitors leave and the town again becomes a barren gas stop in the desert. Take home a story or two.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Bruce D. Clark

I was born in state far away in the early 1950s while my father was getting his masters degree in geology. I spent my formative years in Indian and Spanish uranium boom towns in New Mexico. I went to high school in Oklahoma. I worked my way up in the oil field to be a supervisor of offshore operations on international assignment. I saved enough to pay for law school. I obtained two law degrees. I managed a policy unit for the State of California and provided guidance and instructions on compliance with federal and state healthcare initiatives.
Retirement from that position allows me to pursue more enjoyable writing projects. I have a Facebook page where I can post high quality, color images. The email button works. If you see something you like and want to see a better version, I can post full size pictures to an album or send it by other means. https://www.facebook.com/2BruceClark/I'm willing to discuss professional grade photo papers or Giclée. Thanks for looking.
